2019 All Wrapped Up!

It is hard to believe that another year, as well as a decade, has come to an end.

Our family has spent nine years of the last decade with CLS, and I am always amazed at the way the spirit of Christmas is shared throughout the school and community. It is incredible, and something you don’t see in other schools. It is a wonderful reminder of just what a special place we have in CLS.

Keeping with the magic of the season, the students and their families had the opportunity to give back to those in need. This year we collected 67 Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes, 21 stockings for Shepherd’s Staff, in addition to a big box of toys for their toy room.

It is so precious to see the excitement in the students of CLS when they can give back. It helps to solidify in them that they can make a difference, no matter how little they are.

Once again, our students at CLS were able to showcase their talents with the Christmas program. There is something about hearing little voices praising Jesus that fills everyone with Christmas cheer!

For the second year, the Cookie Walk was a huge success! Not only were families able to fill boxes with holiday treats, but the school was able to raise $760 to support our scholarship/financial aid fund so we can help share the fabulous Christian Education CLS offers to families that might not otherwise be able to afford.

The Students were able to shop for 5 family members at our annual Secret Santa Workshop, and it was so fun to see how much thought went into the process of choosing the perfect gift. Volunteer parents and even a few alumni parents were there to lend a hand with wrapping. I have many sweet memories of the gifts my daughter has chosen for me over the years.

The week before Christmas break wouldn’t be complete without class parties, Kindergarten gingerbread houses, Chapel Buddy gathering and a school-wide Christmas celebration with classic Christmas movies, cookies, popcorn and cocoa!

As we begin a new year, I lift CLS in prayer. I pray that God continues to keep His hand on the staff and families of our school and I pray that others will see the love of Jesus through each one of us. Amen

There is something special about CLS. I invite you all to come experience it!
