Currently, Carroll Lutheran School is accepting applications for the following positions:

Principal

The principal serves as the spiritual, academic, and administrative leader of Carroll Lutheran School. This individual will uphold the school’s values, ensure high-quality education, foster spiritual growth, and nurture a vibrant, Christ-centered community. The principal will work closely with faculty, staff, students, parents, and the Board of Trustees to fulfill the school’s mission of academic excellence, formed in faith.

Major Responsibilities
1. Spiritual Leadership
 Foster a Christ-centered environment that integrates faith into school life.
 Model Christian values and promote prayer, weekly chapel, and spiritual activities.
 Partner with the Westminster Conference and the Delaware Maryland Synod of the ELCA to support spiritual growth.

2. Academic Excellence
 Oversee curriculum development to maintain rigorous academic standards.
 Keep abreast of developments in the profession.
 Provide training and support for faculty in their professional development in supporting a diverse population.
 Use data to evaluate programs and student outcomes to ensure continual improvement.

3. Administrative Leadership
 Implement the school’s budget and apply for grants that augment the school’s income.
 Oversee student admissions, enrollment, and retention strategies.
 Administer procedures consistent with federal law, state law, and state board of education standards.
 Maintain and enforce school policies and procedures.
 Report regularly to the Board of Trustees, attend the Board’s monthly meeting, and such committee meetings as necessary.

4. Community Building
 Promote a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere grounded in Christian love.
 Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and community members.
 Communicate regularly and transparently with all stakeholders.
 Plan and participate in school events, fundraisers, and community outreach.

Qualifications
 A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a lifestyle that reflects Christian values.
 A master’s degree in education (preferred).
 Must hold Advanced Professional Certificate or Administrator II eligibility from MSDE.

Employment Details
 Full-time position reporting to the Board of Trustees.
 Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
 In addition to school holidays, the Principal shall receive 30 days of Paid Time Off during the year.
 3% matching IRA
