Alumni Spotlight - Joel Glantzberg

This month we are excited to introduce you to another CLS Alumni!

Joel Glantzberg graduated from CLS in 2018 after attending for his middle school years. He went to Francis Scott Key High School and graduated in 2022. He excelled in his classes due to the academic foundation built at CLS.  While at FSK, Joel completed the carpentry program at the Carroll County Career and Technology Center. He learned many skills in this program and uses these skills at home by building furniture and completing home repairs. After graduation, Joel decided to pursue a career in the automotive industry. He was part of the first class to complete the Automotive Technician Certificate program at Carroll Community College in April of 2023. Joel is currently working full-time at Cranberry Automotive Service Center in Westminster.

Classroom Activities

The past week in Health, students began lessons in Environmental Health. K-4th graders heard the creation story from Genesis and learned what it means to be stewards of God's creation.

After this lesson, students in K-2nd grades had the opportunity to watch the movie The Lorax. Afterward, they had a Bible lesson that connected the theme of the movie to caring for others and the world and then finished it off with a "Truffula tree" craft.

Save the Date - Golf Tournament

The 22nd Annual Bob Fischer Memorial Golf Tournament (formerly Swing for Scholarships) is scheduled for Thursday, September 26th at noon at Oakmont Golf Course. This tournament is being renamed in memory of Bob Fischer who was instrumental in the development of the current Carroll Lutheran School building, and we are honoring him by renaming the golf tournament and having all donations made in his name applied to our scholarship fund. More information on this wonderful event will be sent in the next couple of months.

Ways to Support Carroll Lutheran School

Carroll Lutheran School provides an academically rigorous education for students in grades K-8, inspired and sustained by the love of Christ. Each student is valued as a child of God and a unique learner, blessed with distinct gifts and a story to be written. Our wish is to continue to make CLS education accessible to every child by keeping the tuition within reach, reaching new families to grow and renew our CLS community, and continuing to invest in staff attraction, development, and retention. Your generous contributions will directly contribute to the maintenance of the school building, sustaining essential staff, and preserving the unique Christian environment that sets Carroll Lutheran School apart from the others.
