Why a private school? More importantly, why Carroll Lutheran School?

Are you a current family on the fence about re-enrollment here at CLS? Maybe your family is contemplating private school rather than public school? Whatever your reason for reading this, I’m glad you’re here.

In 2011, we were trying to decide the best fit for our own child who was starting kindergarten in the fall. We started researching and found the best information came from families who were already a part of CLS.

We heard many reasons, but the ones that stood out were:

  • Communication between the school and your family.
  • Strong educational foundation.
  • Great teachers.
  • Smaller school and class size, and a friendly, welcoming community.
  • Personal attention.

Most importantly, we were looking for a school that held strong to Christian beliefs. We found all of that and more at CLS.

This year, I took a new role as the Health teacher at CLS. As an alumni parent, it felt like coming home. All the qualities we found at CLS as parents of a student, are still there, and the current families are amazing! I couldn’t be happier to be a part of it all.

This year we are also finishing up our daughter’s senior year of high school. Time has gone by way too quickly, but I still believe that the nine years she spent as a student at CLS have played a huge part in her success, and she will be the first to admit that she owes a lot to her middle school social studies ELA and math teachers for pushing her so hard. (Btw, two of those teachers are still here at CLS)

She came into public high school with an educational foundation far beyond her peers. She remained on the honor roll and completed the Drafting program at the Carroll County Career and Tech Center and has also been doing dual enrollment college courses through Carroll Community College.

I am a proud mom, but I’m not just bragging about my own child. When we were looking for a private school, we were focused on the near-present future for our child. I just want to show you how that decision could look years into the future where our family is right now.

The education your children are receiving or could receive at CLS is far-reaching. That along with the love, care, and teaching of God’s word is priceless.

Children truly grow at CLS.
